Renal Care Planner (RCP) publishes educational information and practical planning resources for people receiving in-center hemodialysis and those who support them. These standards define how RCP researches, reviews, updates, corrects, and separates editorial content from commercial influence.
Firsthand perspective
Content draws on 8 years of hands-on hemodialysis patient care and 3 years of dialysis biomedical experience. That experience helps place clinic routines, equipment, terminology, and treatment-day questions in context. It does not replace medical sources or guidance from a patient’s dialysis care team.
Sources and verification
Clinical claims are checked against authoritative sources relevant to the topic. These sources include government health agencies, CMS and Medicare materials, the National Kidney Foundation, recognized clinical guidelines, and peer-reviewed literature. Clinically substantive articles include a Sources section. When guidance varies by patient, facility, or treatment plan, the content states that limitation.
Clinical review status
Source-checking and editorial updates are separate from independent clinical review. A page should be treated as independently clinically reviewed only when it explicitly identifies the reviewer, their credentials, the review date, and the scope of that review. Feedback on one resource does not imply approval of the entire website.
Clinical boundaries
Renal Care Planner does not diagnose conditions, interpret personal laboratory results, or set an individual patient’s target weight, ultrafiltration goal or rate, treatment duration or frequency, medication dose or timing, fluid allowance, nutrition targets, machine settings, or other treatment decisions. Individual medical decisions belong to the patient and the patient’s licensed care team.
Review, updates, and corrections
Time-sensitive and clinically sensitive content is reviewed periodically and updated when needed. Articles include publication or review dates where appropriate. Material errors are corrected promptly when identified, and related pages are checked for the same issue. Readers can report a possible error through the Contact page.
Commercial independence
Affiliate relationships and other commercial relationships are disclosed where they are relevant. Compensation does not determine clinical explanations or whether a product or service is included. Products and services are not presented as replacements for treatment, medication, or instructions from a care team.
Advertising and sponsorship placement
RCP may accept contextual advertising or sponsorships tied to the page, topic, or resource category being viewed. RCP does not use a visitor’s kidney disease, dialysis status, treatment details, or interaction with kidney- or dialysis-related pages to build, sell, or target health-condition audience segments. Sponsored placements are clearly identified and do not control clinical explanations, factual directory inclusion, or editorial conclusions.
Resource directories
RCP may include services in resource directories when current public information is available to describe the service accurately and it is relevant to the needs the directory is designed to address. A commercial relationship is not required for inclusion. If RCP has an affiliate, sponsored, or other paid relationship with a listed service, that relationship is disclosed where it is relevant to the reader.
